What are you after?
Acts 8 this morning carried me straight into Deuteronomy 29 and Isaiah 58 ☝️—texts that don’t soothe so much as steady. They reminded me, again, that Jesus Christ has my life firmly in His hands, even when the terrain is unclear. Give it a listen if you’re walking a similar road.
I spent part of Friday circling some personal challenges I’m navigating right now. 👇
There is a real crucible in discerning the line between being forthright and maintaining private integrity. When something feels wrong, the impulse is to correct it immediately, yet Scripture and experience agree: the path that feels righteous is often the one that leads astray, especially in a culture shaped by prejudgment rather than discernment.
“Has anyone believed our report?” the prophet asks—and tradition tells us his faithfulness ended with a saw.
The New Testament in our Lord Jesus Christ neither destroys the wisdom that says, “Do this, and live,” nor does it assure you that the ash heap of Job will never be your lot. Sometimes Jesus gives. Sometimes Jesus takes away. Blessed be the only Name under heaven by which we must be saved!
Next actions for me mean continuing to recover what was lost, not because Jesus took it, but because “an enemy did this.” When the devil steals your confidence, your peace and your clarity, the antidote always remains in your mouth and on your heart: Words of Truth that never pass away, even as kingdoms and empires fall.
So, truth be told, I am holding back, and that does not seem to trouble you. If anything, the steady rise in subscription support and the thoughtful conversation in the comments at revfisk.com suggest that what I’m carrying is not far removed from what many of you are carrying as well. For years I’ve sensed that my life, in small and strange ways, mirrors the pressures of the age, bound into a wider narrative that feels larger than any one person. “Who stumbles, and I do not feel it?”
Onward we go!
I will hold my line and trust in He who sees in secret. Jesus Christ is the King of all Covenant. His Word is inspired and without error. Fog, confusion, and accusation are not the tools of His Kingdom. Fear, shame, and hatred are not the path of the Way. So, I choose grace. I measure with mercy. “I am what I am.” Thank God!
You have no power over what others say. You are not responsible for what others feel. You are responsible for you. When the story is inverted—when good is called evil and evil is called good—this is not the hour to disappear into the crowd. It is the moment to remember that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is about loving enemies, praying for persecutors, and standing on the rock that is higher than us all.
Thank you for your support, whether here, at Patreon, Subscribestar, or directly.
My next steps will be slow. Peace is meant to be quiet. Healing rarely comes with applause; it comes in the still place of prayer before the Father from whom nothing is hidden, who guards your truest treasure in heaven, who is invested far more in that Day than in this one.

All thanks be to Jesus Christ
Thank you Shep Fisk. Praying for our families.
