This —- “Some things are what they are. Some people are who they are. You can’t fix them. You can’t talk them into repentance. You can’t rescue them into reality. You can’t do heart surgery on someone who refuses the scalpel.
God is the author of forgiveness. Not us.”
This is the reminder, confirmation I needed to hear today. Accepting other people’s free will is hard somedays… waiting for salvation for some I love is hard.
This is hard mercy: Only Jesus Christ governs—our role is truth, boundaries, and prayer. Accepting feels brutal on days when love wants to fix it. The mystery of godliness is great.
