To say “Yes!” to Jesus Christ is to embark on a journey of transformation. We do not know where it will end. Outside of Jesus, we do not know what in our worldly lives will succeed. But we do know that we are the stewards of our lives. We are given breath and spirit not to work for ourselves, but for Christ. We build not our city, but his Kingdom.
You are the dustborn, but you are also the Firstborn.
We are the Kingdom of Light and Life.
That is why the stories you hear, the legends you let the world tell you, the roads you walk without thinking and the waves that pressure you without you knowing it, these thing matter.
It is not okay that they are lying to you. It is not ok that they are stealing from. It is not okay that the poor, the widow and the fatherless have no defender. It's not okay that the seven deadly sins are the new virtues.
The Rockford Family Initiative is hosting a "Peace in the Womb" Christmas Caroling Saturday, December 16th at 11am. Come to 611 Auburn St, the site of the proposed abortion mill in central-west Rockford, to sing carols, pray, and make a public witness of the value of every human life. Titus Berndt is our local Lutherans for Life catalyst and contact if you have any questions or plan to attend.
Though I cannot be at every event, I am not going to stop making keeping you informed about the work of the Kingdom on the frontlines of our city. If you can’t be here because you don’t live here, you can still point the way where you are.
