Meridith and I are attending the annual symposia series at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, all week to promote the Hebron Collegium. If you see me, feel free to say hello!
During this time, I will be observing a personal discipline of refraining from new posts. However, with everything unfolding in Washington, D.C., I encourage you to follow the conversation and engage with me on X (@revfisk), where I will remain active.
This is an extraordinary moment in history—if you have the eyes to see it. I’m not suggesting that everything I observe is good, but in contrast to the fears and horrors of the past few years, the present moment holds enough good that I can’t help but offer a prayer of thanks and praise for the fresh air we’re breathing.
That said, I firmly believe:
• We should not follow blindly.
• A man is not forever defined by every decision he makes.
• Just as Nebuchadnezzar needed Daniel, and Cyrus fulfilled his role in God’s plan, so too are we placed in significant moments for a purpose.
Jesus has a plan. He is sending the waves. The key to surfing isn’t in bearing down, but in letting go. It’s not a struggle—it’s a ride.
Have a great time and safe journey. God's peace to you all. God will work amazing wonders if you pray to him and ask him for help. I believe in the power of prayer. Thanks be to God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Amen.
