We give thanks to You, O God!
We give thanks, for Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near:
“I set up the earth and all its pillars firmly. When I choose the proper time, they shall be dissolved, and I will judge its inhabitants uprightly. I said to the boastful, ‘Do not deal boastfully,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up the horn!”
So, do not lift up your horn on high! Do not speak with a stiff neck, for exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor south but from God who is the Judge:
He puts down one, and He exalts another.
For in the hand of Jesus Christ there is a cup, and the wine is red. It is fully mixed, and He pours it out. Surely all the wicked of the earth shall drain and drink down its dregs. But I will declare forever. I will sing praises to the God of Jacob:
“All the horns of the wicked I will also cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”
From my tent to yours on this day of Thanks Giving to our Creator God, thank you for being here. Thank you for opening this. Thank you for reading the Psalm. Thank God for you and his Words of Life in you that now permeate the created order around you. The angels are hushed. The wicked spirits flee. The Name of Jesus Christ is praised.
It’s only one day. Tomorrow will be like any other. Let’s chase the higher things, you and I, what’dya say?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. God bless
Have a Blessed Day
