Let me tell you about Ezekiel 36.
It’s powerful, it’s bold, and it’s about God’s promise to restore Israel in a way that leaves no room for doubt. Here’s the deal: Israel’s been mocked, crushed, and humiliated by its enemies, who thought they could just waltz in and claim what wasn’t theirs. They looked at Israel, saw the mountains, the valleys, and thought, “Great, this is ours now.” But God’s looking down and saying, “Not so fast.”
God sees the arrogance, the way these nations have plundered and sneered. And He’s not having it. He’s saying to the enemies of Israel, “You’ve gone too far, and now, it’s payback time.” He declares that the land of Israel—the mountains, the hills, every inch of it—is going to produce again, bringing fruit and life for the people of Israel. They’re coming home, and they’re coming back to a land that’s thriving, full of promise, just waiting for them.
God’s promising something big here. He’s going to multiply the people, fill the land with life, rebuild every ruin. Israel’s going to be stronger, more prosperous than it ever was. The world’s going to look and know who’s in charge, and it’s not those who mocked or took advantage. God says, “You think you’ve conquered, but I’m here to restore and make this land greater than you can imagine.”
And here’s the best part—He’s saying no more ridicule, no more insults. Israel won’t be childless or desolate. The nations won’t be mocking, they’ll be stunned, watching Israel rise stronger than ever. This is about God saying, “Enough is enough. My people will have their land, their strength, and their honor back.”
In Ezekiel 36, it’s not just restoration; it’s a statement. God’s saying He’s back in the game, and Israel’s going to shine. And for everyone watching, it’s a reminder that nothing stands in the way of God’s plans, which now include making sure you know that, whoever you are, wherever you are, Baptism into Jesus Christ is the covenant christening-annountin-declaring that he has every intention of going Ezekiel 36 all over you, too.
