“Dame Folly is a Mystic” from Broken
Mysticism is like a seductive woman, sitting at a sidewalk cafe watching everyone who passes by. She is always dressed in the latest fashions and styles, and while she rarely yells, her voice is always heard above the crowd. “*Whoever would be spiritual, let him talk to me,*” she says. “*Learn from me my spiritual disciplines. I will teach you to experience God. Let me teach you my newfound methods. I will help you learn to discover God through what you feel. Follow me and my advice, and I will show you the trick to finding God in your heart.”
Addendum to the Reprobate: List of Further Verses
Jesus’ Teachings: Red Letters
1. Matthew 7:21-23:
• “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
2. Matthew 13:38-42:
• “The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
3. Matthew 13:18-22:
• “Hear then the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.”
4. John 3:18-19:
• “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.”
5. John 15:6:
• “If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.”
6. Matthew 25:31-46:
• “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’”
Apostolic Admonitions
1. Romans 1:18-32:
• “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.”
2. Romans 9:22:
• “What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?”
3. Galatians 5:19-21:
• “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
4. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12:
• “Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
5. Revelation 20:11-15:
• “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
6. Revelation 21:8:
• “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Psalms and Proverbs: The Wicked, Scoffer, and Violent Man
1. Proverbs 1:24-33:
• “Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof… Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices. For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them.”
2. Proverbs 2:12-22:
• “Delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech, who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness. For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it, but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it.”
3. Proverbs 10:27-30:
• “The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short. The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land.”
4. Proverbs 16:4:
• “The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.”
5. Psalm 1:4-6:
• “The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”
6. Psalm 5:4-6:
• “For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.”
7. Psalm 37:1-2, 10, 20, 38:
• “Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.”
• “In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.”
• “But the wicked will perish; the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures; they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.”
• “Transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the future of the wicked shall be cut off.”
8. Psalm 73:3-19:
• “For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.”
• “Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin. How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!”
